What Does It Mean To Be In Service?

Maybe you have heard of this before, but still do not know the answer to the question; "what does it mean to be in service?"

Well, it is really quite simple; you know you are being in service to someone, if you are going out of your way to serve them with value. To give them more than they are giving you, without anything expected in return.

Too often in society are we faced with receiving less than we give. We see this everywhere, from the Gas Station, to the Grocery Store in everything in between. We hear people complaining about the lack of service everywhere.

Who is to blame?

What if it was you?

Oooh, but "I did nothing wrong" you think to yourself. Well, right or wrong, if you can honestly say that you constantly give more than you expect to receive, then great, but most people out there are concerned about how much they get paid (usually complain about this while on the clock at work) in trade for the service they provide.

Well, here is the solution. It may well seem foreign at first
but you will get used to it. Do more than you are expected to do at work. Really put a full day in. Take credit for it. Go out of your way to do kind deeds, let people in front of you in traffic. Wave thanks to people that let you in.

Basically take it upon yourself to be responsible for spreading as much service as you can muster and watch what happens all around you. People will begin to serve you back, you will hear about how people have become so friendly, how great the service is, etc.

So, what does is mean to be in service? Taking personal responsibility and ownership of the privilege to give more than your receive.

In Your Service,
